Providing inaccurate information or failing to upload required documents may result in rejection. There are no refunds for incorrectly submitted applications.
Required Documents for Applications
When applying for a new license or purchasing an existing business, upload the following:
- Temporary Operating Permit (if applicable – see Forms & Posters)
- Alcohol Inventory (quantity, brand name, container size)
- Lease/Deed/Purchase Agreement (in applicant’s name: LLC, Corporation, or Individual)
- Premises Diagram
- Business Plan
- Privacy Act Statement & Fingerprint Cards (for president, manager, owners >25%, and participating spouse)
After submission, emails will be sent to the president, manager, and owners >25% for an Individual History Request.
- Manager and spouse must also provide:
- US Birth Certificate or US Passport
- Proof of Nebraska voter registration
Fingerprinting & Background Checks
- Visit the Nebraska State Patrol website for details - Nebraska State Patrol
- Fee Increase: Beginning August 1, 2025, background checks cost $55.00. Incorrect payments will be returned.
- Livescan Requirement: Only fingerprints taken at Troop Headquarters Livescan locations are sent to NSP/CID.
- Fingerprints taken elsewhere must be mailed to NLCC.
- Review fingerprint cards carefully before signing to ensure accuracy.

Special Designated Licenses (SDLs)

- Mobile Bars:
- Must first obtain a retail liquor license with catering endorsement.
- Requires a brick‑and‑mortar location zoned for alcohol sales, meeting health/fire codes, and local approval.
- Apply for an SDL for each event where alcohol will be served.
How to print your license
- Click on the license number in your Dashboard under Issued Licenses.
- Scroll to the bottom of the page under Documents.
- Click on the downward arrow on the right side to download your license
- You must print your license to be framed & hung in plain view in a conspicuous place on the licensed premises.
