Industry Advisory

Nebraska Liquor Control Commission Operations

This advisory is temporary in nature and specific to those in the Liquor industry in Nebraska.

The following are Rule and Statutory provisions that the Nebraska Liquor Control Commission is modifying during the pendency of this crisis.

In response to the ongoing disruption caused by the COVID-19 emergency, the NLCC will be modifying its operations. The NLCC is also offering additional answers in regards to Governor Ricketts Executive Orders No. 20-03 and 20-06.

The Commission will be in its regulatory scheduled session on Tuesday, April 7, 2020 at 9:00 A.M. However, that meeting will be held telephonically and the information to join the meeting will be posted on the NLCC website. All scheduled hearings set for that date will be continued. The NLCC will be contacting interested parties. The agenda for the meeting will be posted on the NLCC website. No outside personnel will be allowed to enter the hearing room. Information on the May meeting will be forthcoming.

The NLCC will be entering into modified operations on March 23rd, 2020. Many of the staff will be working remotely. The best way to contact a specific staff member is thru e-mail. Please use the following link to find their e-mail: http://lcc.nebraska.gov/employee-directory. The NLCC will be working with our industry partners who file excise tax forms and payments to file as normal. However, we are aware that reductions of staff may create issues for timely filing. Therefore, the provision in E.O. 20-06 waives the automatic penalty and interest for late filings. If you have any questions please contact the revenue staff at the NLCC.

The NLCC offices will not be open to the public and will only be accepting applications and forms via regular mail, e-mail or fax. Please use the following e-mail: lcc.frontdesk@nebraska.gov. All required payments may be made on the NLCC website.

We ask for your understanding during this trying time as it is expected that applications will see significant delays.

Thank You

Hobert Rupe

Executive Director
